It is really exciting watching the current US Presidential hopefuls. We are watching history being made. The Democrats have two contenders who, whichever one gains the nomination, will change American politics forever. In my lifetime, I have seen a black man(I hate the term African-American)mount a serious campaign. He has given Hilary Clinton a proper run for her money.Who would have thought it?This time last year, she must have thought that her party's nomination was all sown up.Barack Obama has proved her wrong.

The question we have to ask is what does Obama stand for?He is an attractive candidate, with an unusual history.Born in Hawaii of mixed race,he grew up in Indonesia.Compare that with the current US President whose ignorance of foreign affairs clear in 2000.We need to have Obama fleshed out because I have a weird feeling that he is going to beat Hilary.

What would Obama do about Iraq or global warming?Does he regard the so called special relationship as special? Will the United States finally have a balanced foreign policy in the Middle East?

We need to know this because lies are at stake-ours. Tony Blair joined George Bush's mad adventure in Iraq. One of the knock on affects was that some people were so upset by this, that they introduced suicide bombing to the streets of London.Over 50 people were murdered by these terrorists(let's not mince words) on the Tube and on a bus.

So far, the media has given Obama an easy ride, but as his campaign series questions will have to be asked of him. If you does win the election and becomes President, all of lives will be affected. Not just now but in the future.Remember, global warming will affect mankind many years from now, and the United States needs to start showing leadership. We have had eight years of denial and delay from the Bush Administration which was bought and paid for by the big energy companies.

Will we see a new global warming treaty signed by the United States and China? We'll wait and see.
