I just don't get Kate Moss.
I don't understand the media obsession with this girl from Croydon. She can't sing,although she loves to hang out with rock stars of dubious talent.She is not an actress,and yet she moves in circles that include A list Hollywood stars.
She is model.Okay, she is a one of the top models in the world.She is not as stunning as Gisele, but she is still in that elite group that fashion houses in Paris,Milan and New York really love.
Why is the media so fascinated by her?I once saw her briefly leave a buliding in the West End, and there were paparazzi waiting outside for her.I think that Kate is symbolic of the class of people whose lives we read about all the time. By virtue of her job,her wealth and her media connections,Miss Moss has been elevated to the celebrity stratosphere without ever giving an interview.She is the Ultimate Celebrity.
She is clever enough to have created a mystique about herself.She never appears on chat shows or gives interviews to Heat magazine.Despite this, we read about her all the time.We hear about her celebrity pals,their love of dubious products from Latin America, their sexual shennanigans and her wealth.
Kate Moss has managed to avoid her voice being heard despite the fact that she is constantly in the papers.
I think that if she did ever speak , the whole mystique would collapse.We would realise that this was just a dull girl from Croydon who just got lucky.
