Am I the only person that thinks that British TV is really crap??Endless property programmes,reality TV shows,awful soaps.It's drivel.
Once upon a time, we used to make great dramas and comdedies.ITV produces such a poor quality of programmes that I can't think of a single programme that really grabs me. Not one decent current affairs programme or documentary series.Talk about dumbed down.You would never believe that this channel once produced The World at War, one of the greatest documentary series of all time.Endless reality TV knock offs,James Bond repeats,Emmerdale on all the time.
Even Channel 4 has been dumbed down, the Big Brother circus seems to dominate its programme for the entire summmer.
The best TV happens to be imported from the US,such as Desperate Housewives,CSI or Law and Order.
We used to tell ourselves that our TV was the best in the world, but that was in the 1980s.No one can say that now with a straight face.It seems that TV executives have lost their nerve and their imagination in this multichanel universe.Given the people what they want seems to be their method of operating.
The tide will turn....hopefully it will be soon.

I went away for 9 months over the winter, and i got back, it had actually got worse that the sorry state it was in before i left. Reality TV'v taken over, and its all bollux. Why watch people live their lives when you've got your own one to live!?
Suppose it the whole "Celebrity Culture" that so much of this country is obsessed with. And when people read up[ about celebs, its not about what they've been achieving (which is what celebrities should be admired for), its what they've been wearing or going out cheating with. Fuk them.
There is some good telly on but you got to look for it. I only watch it now if i planned to watch a program which i've spotted in the TV guide. No point sitting and flicking through the channels in the hope that i might find something interesting, cos i usually won't.
I've been hearing a lot about this new series, Lost, starting on wednesday, C4 i think. But like you said its a US import. Just hope it isn't cheesy at all, as i find a lot of a american tele.
